Does Ruled replace my accountant?

No. Ruled does the bookkeeping your accountant would otherwise bill you for, and hands them clean books. They still file your returns and give you advice.

Which banks and cards work?

Any UK bank or card that supports Open Banking, plus Stripe, SumUp, Square, PayPal and Amex. Most owners connect everything in under five minutes.

What if it picks the wrong category?

Change it once and Ruled learns the rule for that payee. Every decision has a written reason, so you can see why it chose what it did.

Is my data safe?

Ruled has read-only access to your accounts and cannot move money. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit and stored in the UK.

Does it handle VAT?

Yes. Ruled tracks VAT on every line and prepares the figures for your quarterly return. Your accountant, or you, submit it.

What happens after the free month?

You choose to stay on the plan at £39 a month or leave. If you leave, you keep a full export of your books.
